11:30 AM - Helping girls navigate life
Upcoming Workshop called NAVIGATING GIRL WORLD is designed to help parents and their girls put media into perspective.
'We're looking at how young girls are sexualized through media and the impact that has on their self-worth and self-image' said workshop facilitator Kerri Isham.
Organized by the district parent advisory council, the workshop runs twice on Tuesday, February 9 at the Parksville Community & Conference Centre from 11.30am to 1.30pm and 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
Last year the district attracted over 650 people to a similar workshop for boys.

Tickets are $5 in advance, $7 at the door, available from all school PACs, Pacific Brimm and Sports Traders.
